Martin Denny’s timorous tune “Manila” performed by the Waitiki on their rare debut CD: Charred Mammal Flesh: Exotic Music for BBQ, featuring Randy Wong on Bass, Brian O’Neill – the future Mr. Ho -- on Marimba, Tim Mayer on Flute and Abe Lagrimas Jr. on Drums and Percussion. “Tango Lunatico” by 8 1/2 Souvenirs from their 1997 scintillacious CD: Souvonica, with Juliana Sheffield on Vocal, Glover Gill on Piano, Olivier Giraud on Guitar, Todd Wulfmeyer on Bass and Adam Berlin on Drums and Percussion. “Hula Hoop” by Dan Licht With Joey Altruda and His Cocktail Crew taken from the coconutty compilation: Pottery Barn Tiki Rhythms, with Red Young on Piano, Jim Akimoto on Tenor Sax, Craig Fundyga on Vibes, Chris Tedesco on Trumpet and Joey Altruda on Bass. “Playboy” by the composer and arranger Bob Thompson from his 1959 lubricious LP: Mmm Nice!. The Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer classic “Moon River,” the Oscar-winning song written for the 1961 movie: Breakfast at Tiffany’s, in a version recorded by The Puppini Sisters on their superlative CD: Hollywood, featuring Tom Hodges on Musical Saw. “Blood & Sand” by The Tiki Tones from their soigné CD: The Leisure Experiment, featuring Atlast Rockmont on Drums and Cisco Oronoco on Organ. “Asia Minor,” the Roger King Mozian composition recorded in the late 1940s by Machito and His Afro-Cubans, was taken from their bopping Box Set: Ritmo Caliente, starring Roberto Rodriguez on Bass, Mario Bauza on Oboe and Rene Hernandez on Piano. “Jungle Holiday” came from Tito Puente’s 1960 Latinesque LP: Tambo’. “Nomad” from the album of the same name by the Aqua Velvets, with Miles Corbin on Electric Guitar, Hank Maninger on Guitar, Michael Lindner on Bass and Donn Spindt on Drums. “Camel Ride” by Swedish surf guitar band, the Langhorns from their ceremonial CD: Mission Exotica, with Michael Sellers on Guitar and Mans Block on Percussion. “Har Gabroo” by H-Dhami taken from the copacetic collection: The Rough Guide to Bhangra. “Namoro” performed by Project 2000 on the antic anthology: White Martini – La Musique Lounge Moderne Deux.
