Quite a great haul of books from the recent Friends of Hawaii Library Book Sale recently.

"Women of Polynesia" and "Vivre Tahiti"

"South Pacific Dance" & "South Pacific: Arts & Dance"
a few pics from these two:

A very colorful "Guide To The Island Of Tahiti"

"Samoa In Color"

A LARGE (nearly two feet tall) book celebrating the beauty of Tahitian men.

Of course, all these books are FULL of great photos.
In fact, the "Women of Polynesia" book is SO AMAZING, I'm going to do a bunch of scans
from it as a separate post. Full of mid-20th century exotic types, some nudes as well. A very odd book, it attempts to be somewhat scientific or anthropological in it's texts, interspersed with "Polynesian photographic studies."
It's a gem....
