I haven't played with underglazes too much, but I've been warned to not use them on bisque ware if the pieces are very dry- they need some moisture to "adhere." The owners/ managers of the clay studio where I'm a member have a large batch of clear glaze. Haven't tried it yet, but hope to start playing with some soon.
