Likely the regional birthplace of surfing as we know it, and taken with them north to Hawai'i.

The overlapping links that Tiki shares with other popular cultures has been commented on many times,
though probably no other has closer ties to the whole island thing.

If I had my time again I'd waste even more time at the beach and have sometimes wondered whether any of
those ancient guys thought the same. Maybe they were too busy surfing to carve many tikis. :)
