Thoughts on lime juice? - Tiki Drinks and Food

Five cocktails later (an an Uber ride back to the hotel) I am a convert. However.... somewhere between the Rays Mistake and the Missionary's Downfall, I happened to notice them refreshing their lime juice... from a large can (gulp). So what's the protocol on this? As an avid listener of 5 Minutes of Rum, and reader of Beachbum Berry's books, it's been drilled into me that I should ALWAYS squeeze fresh lime juice, and yet, here in one of the top tiki bars in the world - they're getting it out of a can? Thoughts?
