It is important to remind people of the grandeur of the Hala Kahiki, it is not mentioned often enough, yet it is one of the most amazing original Tiki temples still in existence. I remember well my first visit together with Jeff Berry, on my 1996 expedition to photograph the Kona Kai, and the Kahiki in Columbus for the Book of Tiki, and the photo Safari for Tiki Modern in 2003, where James Teitelbaum assisted me with the lighting.
