New stuff from this week:

5' x 5' piece of tapa


A few holes and folds but it's in excellent shape overall

New Zealand Maori linen:

American Museum of Natural History Science Guide No. 96 published in 1946

It has some PNG info throughout

Pair of stone Moai:

Tonga mermaid tapa fan:

Tiki lamp: looks like it was a statue that someone half assed into a lamp by drilling a hole through the head

I was also questioning the tattoos, penned in with a Sharpie

Then I looked at the details on the back and arms and some of the negative space was carved out


At first I thought some idiot drew all over it, but now I'm leaning towards it's unfinished...Best guess of where it's from is Tahiti/Society Islands. Style and wood type make me think so. He has a small penis carved on it too, which is so small you cant see it in any of the the pictures.
