They are fun to work with. Progress Report on Wish List #5. It's time to sand all the projects. When that's done I'll post those photos. Meanwhile in my down time I've been having some fun with mugs that I'd cast and stored in plastic bags. Today I paired up a hula girl and a coconut mug. I started by cutting off her feet. Two reasons, one so she would fit and second so that she wouldn't blow up in the kiln. All the hot air needs a place to escape. Putting her in the coconut closed up the hole on the bottom. One I had glued her with sticky clay to the bottom of the bowl I added hair. Once that was all done front and back I carved the coconut. All done and posing. Coconut Hot Tub! Another Tiki Bob mug that I finished a week ago is a somewhat midcentury design. I deepened the carving in places. All done and posing.
