Actual "Bali Hai Dock" Sign, $400 o.b.o. This is the recently decommissioned Bali Hai Dock sign—a bona fide Tikiyana artifact from the best of original midcentury Southern California Polynesian Pop culture. Originally, the Bali Hai Dock sign marked the landing for seafarers docking at the Bali Hai Restaurant on Shelter Island in San Diego. Subsequently, it lived for a short time in a retro Poly-Pop enchanted tiki backyard. Most recently, the sign hung above and gave its name to the Bali Hai Dock Room at the recently shuttered historic Bahooka Restaurant in Rosemead. This is the one-of-a-kind genuine article. There used to be two at the Bali Hai; the other has been lost to history. Made of fiberglass, with a few cracks and blemishes, and a seagull-poo stain from its Bali Hai heyday. Bahooka cardboard trimmings are still attached (with tape, but neat). Reply to make an offer. Can be picked up a mere 45-minute drive from San Diego, in the scenic wine country of Temecula (take a winery tour while you're here!).
