I just counted and I have at least 86 rums in my collection (not including doubles and back stock). I didn't think it was that many. I think at this point I will always be trying new sippers, and will start culling out my mixers until I have a stable few that are acceptable in most situations.
Keepers:
El Dorado 3 through 15 (21 is not worth the extra money)
Angostura 7, 1919, 1824, no. 1
Plantation 3 on up (I have never had a bad plantation)
Lost Spirits polynesian and colonial
Pusser's blue and red
Diplomatico reserva, Abuelo 12, Don Pancho 18, Gran Matusalem
Hamilton Jamaican and Demerara, and the over proof once my lemon hart is gone
Clement vsop and blue canne
Rhum JM vsop
Appleton VX and 12
Dos Maderas 5x5
La Favorite (maybe)
Barbancourt 8
Don Q white and gold
Mount Gay 1703
Ron Barrilito 3 star
Coruba dark
Smith and cross
Denizen 8
I'm sure there's a few others, like the over proofs I use to make falernum and swedish punch.
Ones I won't keep (maybe) Dictador 20, Botran reserve, st Theresa, Zacapa and other solera styles just don't work for me, goslings and Kohala bay (Coruba works fine), fleur de Cana (maybe if they start putting the word 'year' on the bottle I won't feel like I'm being ripped off, white agricoles like st george and Dillion's and the lower proof clement, any high end mount gay, other agricoles like st James and Brugal.
