RVICTOR Dan looks so cute in your photo. He has not lost his beard. I started the mug in January along with the Wish List #5. So during the making of the crawl mug you will see the beard grow. He is enjoying not shaving and I'm having fun with a whole new husband. This is his first beard. I'm so happy that you and others like the mug. It takes a lot of clean up but it's worth it to make something that will last. LoriLovesTiki I should have used that as a lesson and lined them up according to how much they had dried/shrunk. Between the drying and the bisque firing it's around 10%. So if you start with a ten inch tall mug it will end up as a nine inch mug when finished. You should be proud! ========================================== Maybe you are all participating in the ENCHANTED TIKI ROOM SWAP run by TU that is currently in the works, maybe just watching. Each year that I make something for the swap Dan complains when it goes out the door. So this time I showed him the two tikis that I liked best. I told him to choose one and I'd make it for him. The other one I would do for the swap. Here's what I made for Dan. I started with one of my fogcutter casts. I added lot's of sticky clay to build the pole then I pressed in for the eye sockets. It looks like a ghost. I built up the cheeks. The carving begins. He's not a perfect match but Dan's happy. Now I can build the one for the swap. Every day is a tiki clay day, Wendy [ Edited by: danlovestikis 2015-06-10 09:45 ] |
