Well, I quite agree with you there, but it's really a case of striking the right balance, I guess. When the sight of a bare breast turns a nation into hysterical mush, it would seem things are a little off-balance there. I know during my time in the States, the sight of the most fleeting glance of bosom was a cause for wild celebration. If it was a matter of course to see bare flesh on tv, it probably wouldn't have made such an impact.

What we have over here is something called the 'Watershed' time. Basically, if it's shown after 9:00pm and kids see it, it's the parents who are at fault for letting them watch, not the networks. There are limits, of course - warnings before shows where people swear or get their kit off, and no porn, etc. It seems to work ok. If anyone really does cross the line, you can be sure that the complaints will flood in.

Anyway, at least Janet Jackson brought the debate out front, so to speak!
