Description:
When MOA was established in 1947 it received some existing UBC collections, including a large collection gathered by Frank Burnett of mostly South Pacific materials. In the current building (opened in 1976) these are housed in the museum's "Multiverse Galleries" and include artifacts from Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Fiji, Solomon Islands and other areas of Polynesia, Melanesia and Micronesia.

The museum's excellent website http://moa.ubc.ca has a database of objects in the collections that is searchable by object type, places, cultures, people, etc. http://collection-online.moa.ubc.ca
