The Polypop palaces of the past that we all worship were probably the worst form of misusing or profiting from their culture. It is a kewl van and a fine tribute to "Polypop culture" IMO. Personally what I think should really be addressed and publicized to the American public is the loss of their amazing culture and nation to the missionaries and a guy named Dole (& company/cronies and the Committee of Safety) that just had to grow the fruit of a South American bromiliad there (and well ok, sugar too).
