I am not quite sure how old he actually is, I purchased him about 18 years ago from a lady who said her parents had visited Tonga 50 years prior on their honeymooon and brought him back. If this is correct then that would put him at nearly 70 years old...I'm unsure if he was already old when they purchased? He has been inside most of the time that I've owned him but outside also for a few years. There are a few cracks starting to appear but he is still very solid. he is quite heavy and carved from one piece of timber. he is 95cm tall at the highest point and at his widest point across the head measures about 42cm.
