to the Easter Island Moai. It's about 22" tall, the mug is in the picture to give and idea of scale. Pretty fun to find this at Goodwill. If anyone has any ideas bout it, please pipe in.

No problem-here's what I know about those.
I met a guy from Chile with a pretty sweet Moai collection a few years ago. These carvings came up and from what I remember is that they are made in Chile for the tourist trade, from whatever local stock is. He said they carve them there for local tourist shops and send them out to Rapa Nui as well.All kinds of variations of those. Yours is one of the nicer ones, imo. I have maybe a dozen different ones and maybe 4-5 match your wood type exactly.
