There's much that could be said.
However, I would just say that I don't think it "clutters up" thread to thank posters for their pics, info, etc. From my own experience, I have slowed down on posting pictures when there's no response because to me, it means no one is that interested, so why bother?
I'd rather scroll past a few "Hey, that's cool. Thanks" responses, then to feel that person is spending their time sharing posts and info that no one responds to.

I don't think it 'clutters up' threads necassarily either, and i completely agree with the other things you have said above Kaiwaza, however, i only sign in on here when i receive an email to notify me of a personal message, or i only sign in when i DO want to leave a comment.

I haven't done the search for the thread because i don't think there is a need for the link but if only we could get a "Like" button that works here just for us and doesn't link to Facebook then i think that would make a huge difference. If there was figure next to the "Like" button that said how many people had hit the button it would give you an idea of how many people really do like that particular post in comparison to just the actual views, which in my eyes doesn't mean a thing. As i said in an earlier post here, 1000 views doesn't mean 1000 different people have looked at it. It could only be 333.33333 who have looked at the same thread 3 times each. And if only 50 of those 333.3333 do REALLY like your post, if they don't comment you are not even going to know that. But with a "Like" button, all of a sudden you know that at least 50 people appreciate the post.

Now i am far from a computer expert but the problem i see there is, is that even if a "TC Like" button was somehow able to be added, you would still most likely have to be logged in in order to be able to hit the button and then we are back to square one where if you have to log in you are not going to bother because once you've done that you may as well just leave an actual comment.
