I have a story similar to many of you (like Humuhumu for one), I grew up in the Islands through the late 60's and early 70's as the son of Marine Corps Officer who did 2 tours of Viet Nam. The love for polynesian pop, culture, and tiki runs deep. My brother recently uncovered a picture that we had forgotten existed. It's of my mother in 1968, taken by my dad at the Kona Village resort where they met for "R and R" after a long separation. We love the pic for obvious reasons, and thought you would too. I believe all of the buildings you see here were destroyed by a Tsunami some time after.

Aloha!
