Guitarist Tommy Allsup November 24, 1931 – January 11, 2017 On February 3, 1959, The musician lost his place on a flight to Ritchie Valens after losing a coin toss for a seat on the plane. Valens perished along with Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper when the four-man V-tailed Beechcraft 35 Bonanza crashed in the Iowa countryside due to snowy conditions.
