Mai Kai, Fort Lauderdale, FL (restaurant) - Locating Tiki

I think the beach area there is called the "Grand Strand?" is that correct? I would be flying down from Maryland, probably in October - is that a good time of the year (not too hot in other words?) - just trying to pick anyone's brain to help me out.
