This is one of Dan's favorite movies so I used his VHS tape as a guide along with some photos from the internet. I started by cutting out an outline of the woman's body and attaching it to the mug. I was careful to not trap any air as I worked to fuse the edges and to build the body. This is very small so a lot of the time I worked to sculpt it with a wet brush. I just keep adding clay here and there. She has lots of hair to add, also detailing the face is important. Her lower face is peeling off exposing teeth. These next photos just show how I would add and subtract clay trying to match her picture. These photos cover many days of work. I have to let the clay firm up between additions. More to come.
