The Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, New York had a Kona Kai restaurant which operated in the in the 1980s. This is the fifth documented Kona Kai (Philly, Chicago, and two in Kansas City) location in the chain. I found this photo on-line at the Westchester Historical society which shows that there was a definite 1980’s Tiki vibe going on - and a high TIPSY factor. Some ads from the local newspapers. The dates ran through 1990. Pretty cool to find this place after having avoided the Tiki radar so long. DC

This is a very interesting find. The Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, New York had a Kona Kai restaurant which operated in the in the 1980s. This is the fifth documented Kona Kai (Philly, Chicago, and two in Kansas City) location in the chain.

I found this photo on-line at the Westchester Historical society which shows that there was a definite 1980’s Tiki vibe going on - and a high TIPSY factor.
