My usual go-to for straight-up Daiquiris: 2 oz rum, 3/4 oz lime, 2 tsp granulated organic sugar. It's almost a dead heat. I give Plantation a slight edge, but that might just be due to my familiarity with it. These are easily the two best multi-island, blended white rums. Havana Club is the only other rum I've had that makes a better Daiquri. Also a fan of El Dorado 3, which is sort of a middle ground between the two styles. Banks also edged out another 86-proof rum, Cana Brava (which I rate just below the above group along with the 89-proof Bacardi Heritage/1909). ... [ Edited by: Hurricane Hayward 2017-07-30 17:10 ] |
