Mai Tai abomonation - Tiki Drinks and Food

If the industry is presenting the Mai Tai as a fruity Grenadine/Pineapple concoction with a Myers float, the majority of non-tiki people will likely cringe when tasting one done properly, and prefer a stiff, fruity beverage. Sadly, a lot of tiki bars aren't doing the drink justice either. They're either trying to appeal to the general public by making it "Hawaiian" style, or they just don't care to put any effort into their drink program. My worst Mai Tai ever was at Tiki Tolteca in New Orleans a few years ago. Utterly disgusting.
