It's true that Les did some ez listening orchestral material, but keep in mind that Les also had a career prior to his hugely influential "Ritual of the Savage". Look at the records he produced in about 8 years time: "Ritual of the Savage","Tamboo","Jungle Jazz","African Jazz","Ports of Pleasure","The Sacred Idol". That's consistency. He simply did more records than his just his exotica output. I don't know why I'm defending Les Baxter, since I believe that the man was one of the greatest composers of the 20th century. To say that he didn't do enough exotica, is like saying that Jesus didn't heal enough lepers!
