Mahalo to Matt for mentioning Kohala Bay in his story on "Tiki's lost rums" ... Meanwhile, almost on cue, I received this report from a fellow Jamaican rum enthusiast somewhere in South Florida (he won't disclose the exact location) ...
Apparently the hole-in-the-wall liquor store is run by a Jamaican family, and the shelves are loaded with Jamaican rums ...
He walked away with 12 bottles ...
He's well aware of their value, so I'm not sure I'll get my hands on any, but I wouldn't be surprised if one turns up at The Hukilau.
We're hopeful there's still more out there ... |
