I also prefer the lewis bag method over mechanical ice crushers. However, I found a better alternative to Cocktail Kingdom's Schmallet. I think the Schmallet's face is too small and the whole thing too light. Instead, I found the most amazing mallet at Japanesewoodworker.com. It is amazing and makes quick work of a bag of ice.
