The original bamboo was created 4 years ago and had really faded...although still didn't look totally horrible. The bar faces east and gets a lot of sun from morning to mid-afternoon. It wasn't too big of a deal to refinish. I simply washed the old bamboo with soap and a brush and light rinse. Let dry and reapplied shellac. In total I probably had 4 hours into the project. I find shellac a bit finicky to apply to plastic...can be challenging to get it to look even fishing or at least irregular in a way that looks natural.
