I got a bottom made for my treasure chest. On hard slab construction like this, I usually inset the bottom. This creates a "foot" so that just the edge touches the table. This makes a nice, clean foot. This time I put a slab of clay on the bottom and pressed it in to make the foot. This method isn't as pretty but still effective, after it dries I'll sand it to make it flat.
