Royal Hawaiian, Laguna Beach, CA (restaurant) - Locating Tiki

After all of Ben's great work, they believe that they know what a tiki restaurant is supposed to look like. They also wrote that they removed all of the 'tiki grass' citing "Too hard to clean." I wonder what they would have thought about the Bahooka... or Sams Seafood/ Dons... or any number of other beautifully cluttered tiki places. I hate, in the case with tiki bars/ restaurants, when people who have no clue of what they have acquired, think that they know best about what to do with the decor. We've seen that with The Royal Hawaiian a few times in the past, as well as with Sam's Seafood as it transitioned to Kona... Ugh.
