I believe that Trader Vic was the first to use the skull mug, as early as the 40s, so that might predate even novelty mug makers. In mod mana's montage, the one in the far left upper corner is the most desirable in my opinion, the side handled ones always seemd more like novelty mugs to me (EXCEPT when they say MAI KAI or TIKI HUT on them, of course, then they are true TikiBAR mugs!) |
