Hi Tiki Centralites!

Jordan Reichek here! You might remember my sale with La Luz de Jesus/Wacko, "The Art of Tiki: No False Idols".

Last year, I opened a new concept in presenting vintage antiques and memorabilia: Peekaboo Gallery, The Pop-Culture Time Machine. We can be found at http://www.peekaboogallery.com and @peekaboogallery on social.

We specialize in experiential exhibitions and auctions as well as running an eclectic, well-stocked web store. Some of our past exhibitions and sales included...

  • "25ยข A PLAY: The Art of the Videocade": A well rounded look at the history of video game culture from 1970-1987. We featured over 35 rare, mint condition arcade games, memorabilia and the largest offering of original production artwork from Atari and SEGA. All of this presented in a gallery setting mock up of the ultimate 1980s mall arcade environment!

  • "FRIENDLY SKIES: The Art of High Altitude Travel": A celebration on the rich history of commercial air travel from the 1930s to the 1980s. The show featured everything from rare promotional airplane desk models, gorgeous airline travel posters to the largest selection of vintage airline stewardess uniform fashions. These included the sleek 1940s Oleg Cassini TWA designs to the GO-GO look of 1960s Emilio Pucci for Braniff Airlines. The gallery environment was reflective of a bustling airport, complete with original soundtrack and a 35ft "tarmac" carpet for our opening 'runway couture' show featuring the lovely stewardesses from our partners at the PAN-AM Experience!

  • "Rod Serling's NIGHT GALLERY: A Walk Through Experience of Art & Terror": A visit with original production paintings from Rod Serling's macabre follow up to Twilight Zone! The exhibition was held at the incredible, Gothic 1912 masterpiece, The Mountainview Mausoleum in Altadena, CA. Over 25 originals painting and set pieces from Night Gallery were on display, with an original soundtrack playing throughout the mausoleum and signings with the master painter for Night Gallery, Tom Wright in person!

We're proud to announce our next exhibition and auction event, "VINYL CONFLICT: The World of Godzilla Toys" tour!

This features a single person's massive collection of vintage Godzilla toys. The auction will feature over 1200 vintage Godzilla toys and memorabilia and props broken into 850 lots. The limited edition exhibition and auction catalog is the ultimate art book on the subject with crisp photography, artistically themed layout and a beautiful, silver foil hardcover featuring the show design by illustrator, Tom Whalen! *Catalogs available in our store...check the exhibition page.

The auction itself will be held, live at Midsummer Scream at the Long Beach Convention Center, AUGUST 3-4th, 2019. Bidding is live in the room, absentee bids through peekaboogallery.com and live online through Liveauctioneers.com and icollector.com.
