There seems to be less small intimate tiki events but lots of Tiki news stories on TV and Disneyland has increased it's tiki elements.

Has it crossed the underground/Mainstream line yes?

I think it has not yet gone mainstream, but has gotten close over the last few years. Disneyland has done a lot as of late to free up the congestion in Adventureland. I think Dole Whip has become the more mainstream than tiki, and they were smart enough to tie in the area to Tiki Room and Jungle Cruise to move the crowds off the path.

Tiki Diablo at Home Depot a few years back was about as mainstream as it gets, but that was just a one time thing it seems. The generic ceramic tiki mugs at Target not attributed to a particular artist on the other hand...

When one of these new tiki bars starts to franchise, then maybe we would be looking at tiki going mainstream again.
