Was able to get a bit of info. from Cavemoai, he said similar to your sentiment, that the mug looks to be cast from the Hawaiian Village Nui Nui. Possibly from a local ceramics company. Has a 63 and RLW (or a combo of those letters) stamped on the bottom.
