Name:South Pacific Description: The address shows that the restaurant was located at 252 Convention Center Drive which is the old Somerset Shopping Center that had that great old googie sign out front. From Cecil’s obit: “Cecil Lynch was born Feb. 15, 1914, in Schulenburg, Texas. He was a restaurant and casino owner, a Navy veteran, past commander of American Legion Post 8, past member of the Elks, Variety Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars. “ Like many before him, Cecil was a Navy veteran who opened a South Seas joint. Cecil Lynch's Fortune Club at 22 Fremont St. was a slots only club. It opened Feb 18, 1958 and closed Nov 16, 1966. Another great sign out in front of this one as well. Fun stuff, DC |
