Donn and his partner had built and operated the 16-bungalow hotel on the beach outside of Papeete for a few years and were looking to expand the hotel with 45 new bungalows. I managed to uncover some photos of the original Les Tropiques Hotel bungalows that Donn built. You can tell Donn had a hand in the design of the place. Some more great Donn history. DC
