A bunch of the Maryland/DC/Virginia area Tiki community are making a first visit to the just opened Trader Vic's pop up bar in the historic Capital Hilton.

The Capital Hilton and Trader Vic's have worked together to bring back Tiki back to the Hilton where one of the most famous Trader Vic's once was from 1961 to 1995. From Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day, the Statler Lobby bar has been tiki-fied and given a special menu of 7 drinks (5 of which are Mai Tais) and a trio of Trader Vic's signature small plate appetizers.

Bonus to the opening of the pop up bar at the Hilton, a small team from Trader Vic's corporate, including Trader Vic's granddaughter Eve, will be there for the opening weekend.

The local Ohana plan to meet up at the bar when they open at 4:30. Break out your Aloha wear and join us, if you can.

Some street parking is available about 2 blocks away, garage parking ($$) within a block. Best bet is Metro service with the Farragut North station 1.5 blocks away.
