MaukaHale be careful, you're dating yourself LOL More work on my Giant Tile project. Picked up some bamboo from a local bamboo nursery. About 1.75 - 2 inches in daimeter. I read AFTER my other bamboo project that you are supposed to treat bamboo to prevent insect infestation later. One of the methods was heat treating. I drilled a small hole in each internode to prevent the bamboo from exploding when heated. Then took a big propane blowtorch to it. As I understand the heat kills any existing bugs/eggs and also destroys the natural sugars in the bamboo that attract insects later. Cut the treated bamboo to size and notched them so they fit flush together I arranged the frame around the tiles and bolted them together. 8 wooden "bridges" screw into the back of the tiles and into plastic anchors in the bamboo. This keeps a space between the tiles and the frame. The "bridges" are painted dark brown to blend into the ceiling. (this is the ugly backside) Hung from the ceiling. I've got green ropelights coming in a few days to put on top
