Momo Poke in Alexandria is celebrating their third anniversary today and tomorrow (closed Sundays and Mondays). If you're not familiar with it, it's run by a local and it's the only place I'm aware of to get real Hawaiian food and plate lunches within a 160 mile radius from DC. It's also the only place I know of where I can get real poke anywhere east of Las Vegas. Typically shoyu onion ahi and spicy ahi, sometimes old school ahi with inamona and sea salt, and he's been making tako poke lately. Also a source for fresh poi, kulolo, and luau leaves like once every year.

Kanikapila on Saturday, 8/13. The weekend special is a plate lunch with kalua pig, pork belly luau, lomi lomi salmon, rice and mac salad.

I know it's not tiki, but I also know that many tiki people like Hawaiian food and music, so if you want to eat good food and listen to chill music, here you go. I think the local halau will show up, but probably just to eat, not dance.
