Mezcal recommendations for Tiki mixing? - Tiki Drinks and Food

I'm not aware of a "smokiness rating scale," so that could be a bit of a challenge. But, another option I can suggest, would be to take your Del Maguey and mix it with another high-quality non-smoky tequila to reduce the smokiness. Two examples I recommend are Don Julio and El Tesoro. Both are reasonably priced and of very respectable quality. I do not suggest using Patron for this. My two coconut shells there for you, for what it's worth. Have fun with it and I think you'll get to where you want to be.
