I saw a pool noodle octopus arm posted somewhere so I thought I would make one. Tapered the pool noodle, an electric carving knife works very well. Cut a flat surface where the suckers will go. Painted the flat surface white and purple spots on the rest. A bunch of suction cups in 3 sizes from Amazon painted red and glued on A 4 ft piece of 3/8 rebar with two 1/2 bolts welded on allows me to bolt to the ceiling joist plus give shape and support. Finished. Bolted to the ceiling and holding a lightweight lamp
