After a long rut in finding any tiki or anything remotely Hawaiian at least, I finally made a decent thrift store score...at least for rural Maryland. I got 19 records - some of which aren't Hawaiian or exotica but cool nonetheless (which aren't show) Three different Orchids of Hawaii mugs - a coconut, an alien looking mug and the super cool hula girl mug where the girls look kinda "stylized" as Duke Carter described them on Pg.88 of Tiki Quest. How much would you pay for all this? Wait there's more...A New Zealand Maori mask at the local antique mall... Grand total for all items...$36.00! I am quite pleased... |
