So the window AC unit is hideous, but we don’t want to get rid of it. So here is my solution for a window covering. I cut out a palm leaf design from thin plywood then painted it. There is less coverage at the bottom so it won’t impede airflow.IMG_1063IMG_1070I did make a mistake when selecting wood. I thought 1/4” would be easy to work with, but the jigsaw really tore it up. I would have been better off with 3/8”. Fortunately everything looks better once it’s been painted. And I can just tell myself that any rough edges have a Witco-esque aesthetic.IMG_1115IMG_1119 would it be a really bad idea to paint the AC unit? I’ll probably just put some tall things in front of it for now.
