I think that storyboards originated in Palau. If I remember right, they were not an ancestral skill but something taught to the islanders when Japan controlled the island. There was a big demand for those in Japan at the time. There are 3 round discs on the first one that reminds me the stone money, or Rai, from the island of Yap. Those stones were quarried on Palau and transported to Yap.
