The original painting had nothing at the top and bottom, just black velvet. Crystal wanted sky, moon and stars. That means to balance it I need to do a foreground. I will add sand and plants that are close to the viewer of the painting. To start I add my name. Then I will build the garden to hide it. I've always thought that names on paintings detract from the art. Here's how I paint my name.
