I've got a one-year subscription, which I suspect is about to run out. Overall, Exotica Moderne is a more diverse and polished publication, which makes sense, as Ken's been doing this for quite a while now and has his system (and contributors) locked in. The May/June 2025 issue of Wiki Tiki actually arrived today. It strikes me as a labor of love, with publisher Bill Wheeler producing most of the content himself. Milton Moai has recently started contributing a music column and Cecilia Wheeler, a travel agent (and I'm presuming Bill's wife) contributes articles about tiki-related vacation destinations, such as this month's piece on New Zealand.

My biggest criticism is an over-reliance on cocktail photography for the cover art, which has the unfortunate effect of making every issue's cover look the same, even when the cocktail presentation is substantially different. They all tend to run together. The worst came last year when they used a ridiculous AI generated cocktail image for the cover. Fortunately, I think they learned from that misstep and haven't repeated it. Overall, it's a different perspective from Exotica Moderne and I'm glad it's around. I plan on renewing my subscription when the time comes.
