Two old-but-new discoveries!

A new article in Tiburon's newspaper (https://www.thearknewspaper.com/live/late-bartender-s-daughter-unearths-lost-recipes-of-tiburon-tommie-s), The Ark, is about a cheat sheet of recipes rediscovered by the daughter of a late original bartender. First time I've ever seen the "mai tai" recipe. Most of the rest actually look like substandard versions of what now have better known recipes.

Also, it looks like the original name was actually the Quarterdeck, NOT the Oar House!!!! The new article links to this old article from the county newspaper from Jan. 20, 1956 that says the bar was previously named Rossi's before Tommy Cox bought it. At the time of that article, it was being operated by Cox as the Quarterdeck. We know Cox opened the original bar in November 1955 and changed the name to Tommy's Pier 41 a year later, so a January 1956 article is contemporary to its first year of operation and would be indicative of its original name, before being renamed to Pier 41 later that year (1956).

The Belvedere-Tiburon Landmarks Society also recogizes Quarterdeck as the original name: https://landmarkssociety.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Landmark-Newsletter-Fall-2017-12-pages-v5.pdf
