Hi, I have been living in Winter Haven since 1982 and just recently located where the Volcano restaurant was located, the info was from the Winter Haven Museum that sits on Lake Howard. It was right there on the corner beside the Mc Donald’s. I was married in Largo, Florida on March 15th 1969 to my high school sweetheart who was just out of basics of the airforce. We were driving down to Homestead Airforce base & on our way stopped on our wedding night for dinner at the Volcano. It had valet parking which I know the valet was shocked to see our car packed to the ceiling with wedding presents. I was super impressed by the large clam shaped sinks in the ladies room. We didn’t have much being so young & my husband just out of basics but that dinner was so memorable. After 56 years I can’t believe it is a location I drove by almost daily.
