Normally, I'd go out on a Friday evening. But noting that Halloween falls on a Friday, and we'll be home, handing out sweets to little beggars, I decided I should whip up a cocktail worthy of the holiday. Something classic with a twist. I decided to take all seven Zombie recipes that are attributed to Don Beach and include only ingredients that are common to at least two of the recipes. And the resulting Frankenstein's Zombie is what I'll be sipping:

FRANKENSTEIN'S ZOMBIE

  • 1 oz Lime Juice
  • 1 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 1/2 oz Grapefruit Juice
  • 3/4 oz Simple Syrup
  • 1/2 oz Passion Fruit Syrup
  • 1/2 oz Falernum
  • 1 oz 151-proof Demerara Rum
  • 1 1/2 oz Dark Jamaican Rum
  • 1 1/2 oz Gold Puerto Rican Rum
  • 3/4 oz Maraschino Liqueur
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 2 dashes Grenadine
  • 1 dash Pernod/Herbsaint

Flash blend with crushed ice and pour into a zombie glass. Garnish with mint sprigs and something scary.
