There was a big discussion about this about a year ago on the Tiki subReddit. Don't think anyone was familiar with the term "Turquerie," tho someone linked to a page about "Orientalism." But yeah, it was more about 20th century phenomenon like "Casablanca," belly-dancing, "The Mummy" and other Egypt-isms. And yes, fezzes! Various names were suggested, as i doubt Turquerie or Orientalism will really catch on. I suggested "Casbah," as it's a name that seems to come up a bit. The film "Casbah" directly inspired "Casablanca," and it's also the name of a killer guitar instro. And a certain song by The Clash...

And then there's all those versions of "Caravan"!
